Policies And Procedures

First-Timers

If it’s your first time booking, please try to arrive at least 10-15 minutes early for a consultation.

Deposits

A deposit is required to secure your appointment for all bikini services, eyebrow and large beauty services. The deposit goes toward your scheduled appointment. All deposits must be paid in 24 hours or your appointment will be cancelled.

Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule your appointment please reach out to me or reschedule online 48 hours in advance.

Late Cancellations/No-Shows

If you cancel or no-show your appointment in less than 24 hours notice, you forfeit your deposit and will be required to submit a new deposit to reschedule your appointment. Any no-shows will be charged a 25% late cancellation fee.

Tardiness

If you are running late please let me know as soon as possible, if you will be more than 10 minutes late then you will need to reschedule your appointment.

Extra Guests

No guests allowed in the waxing room unless they are a parent or guardian.

Waxing Consent

Consent

If you are under the age of 18, verbal and written parental guardian consent is required for any waxing services. The parent or guardian also must be present for the service if you are under the age of 18. Your parent or guardian may give written permission for you to attend your waxing services without them present if you are between the ages of 16-17. No bikini waxing services will be preformed on anyone under the age of 17.

Precautions

Doctor approval is needed if you are pregnant, have had any surgeries or body modifications within a year, or if you are diabetic. If you have been taking Accutane, you need to stop taking the medication for a year and have a doctor’s note before waxing. Stop using any acne medication or retinol for 7-14 days for any facial waxing service.

Why can’t I have sex or go to the gym 24-48 hours after getting a Brazilian wax?

Waxing removes the hairs from the hair follicle, so for the first 24-48 hours your pores are exposed. Any friction or sweating can irritate the skin and may cause an infection.

I am exfoliating and still getting ingrown hairs. What do I do?

It could be multiple factors such as body wash, lotions, sweating, your towels, bed sheets, or laundry detergent. If not, then switching your aftercare routine is another option. Also making sure you are using up and down and side to side motions when exfoliating so you’re going in the same direction as your hair growth.

Is waxing painful or Awkward?

Waxing can be spicy, but only for two seconds. Once your waxer applies pressure, it helps alleviate any discomfort. Nerves are completely normal for your first time, but the right waxer will make you feel comfortable, and by the end of your service you can’t wait to come back!

Will waxing prevent ingrown hairs?

Waxing can definitely decrease ingrown hairs, but aftercare and consistent waxing plays a major part in optimal results and any preventative measures. But everyone’s skin is different and some may be a better candidate for sugaring, laser hair removal or electrolysis.

What kind of wax does wax baby use and why is it different?

The wax that I like to use is by Waxing Lovely, and it is called pink chocolate. It is a cream based wax that is infused with jojoba oil, argan oil, shea butter, coconut oil, and cocoa butter. So it is great for sensitive skin and ideal for coarse hair by helping to nourish the skin and hairs, leaving you with silky smooth results!

How do I prepare for my first Brazilian wax?

If you have been shaving, don’t shave for at least 2-3 weeks and don’t trim the hairs. Wear comfy clothes and cotton undies, exfoliate your skin with an unscented sugar scrub or exfoliating glove with an unscented or ph balanced body wash. Hydrate your skin with unscented lotion or jojoba oil, but not the day of your appointment. And of course drink water all day everyday!

What does waxing aftercare include?

Refrain from workouts and sexual activity, avoid tanning products and UV exposure, skip exfoliating for 24-48 hours, wear clean loose-fitting clothes, avoid hot baths, showers, and tubs, and steer clear of deodorant for 24 hours if your waxing your underarms, body sprays, scented lotions, and touching the area. Hydrate your skin everyday with an oil or serum, exfoliate 2-3 times a week with an exfoliating glove or an unscented gentle physical or chemical exfoliant.
